Week 35: Solitary Animals, Writing Workshop, Harvest Time, Sneetches on Beaches, Capoeira, and Pierc

This week at the Zoo our kids learned about solitary animals. They built Panda habitats to help them understand what these animals need.

Creative writing workshop! Some kids wrote quite a bit, but for those kids who are not quite ready to write their memoirs, they did some fancy scribbling.

Harvest time in our garden! The kids harvested collard greens, kale, and spinach. We are leaving our snap peas, carrots, beets, and cabbage to continue growing. We also planted tomatoes and cucumbers!

For our mindfulness project, we read Sneetches on Beaches. The kids were then asked to think of something fun/unique/nice about a friend in the group. All the kids said that their friends were silly!

Capoeira!

For our final field trip this year, the kids went to Pierce Mill. The kids did a short hike, played by the creek, and enjoyed a potluck lunch.
