

Week 26: Presentations, Aboriginal Culture, Capoeira, and Bowling!

Week 25: Parasites, Scavengers, and Trappers; Introduction to Australia and Aboriginal Culture; Ulur
This week, City Kids learned about the unique ways that some parasites, scavengers, and trappers find food. For World Cultures/Geography this week, the kids had an introduction to Australia. We focused on Aboriginal culture, including Dreamtime, the didgeridoo, and Mer Kai! These books are Aboriginal children's stories brought from Australia. Week 24: Prey adaptations, Our Garden, Capoeira, and 3D Printing!
For their Zoo class this week, the kids learned about the kinds of adaptations that prey animals develop for survival. The kids worked on their garden, nurturing the little shoots already coming up! The kids logged many hours at the park this week, exploring, doing activities, and just soaking in the sun. One of our Auntie's joining in the fun! Look at the little surprise our garden already had for us when we cleared the hay off of it yesterday. Ambitious little ones! To our future carrots, or beets, or spinach, or carrot-beet hybrids, (whatever you are because our kids were excitedly planting some of their seeds wherever they wanted): we don't care what you are--we will be happy as long as you are healthy. :)


Week 23: Apex Predators, Aurora Australis, Gardening, Capoeira, and Ice Skating!
This past week at the kids' Zoo class, they learned about apex predators! They also enjoyed the sunshine! For Geography/World Cultures, the kids continued their lessons on Antarctica. We focused on cold water marine life adaptations, Aurora Australis, and penguins! Below, the kids are painting their own Aurora Australis pictures.
